Back in 2005 I graduated from Georgetown University with a joint Masters degree in management and comparative literature. Soon after that I managed to land a promising position at the major news website back home and was quick to advance the ranks from writer to editor. To fast track my pursuit of happiness I was constantly doing copywriting side gigs in my spare time – I had to provide for my wife and future children. Success, promotion, lots of money, a spacious suburban house and a family life: a true American dream, as corny as Kansas in August. I couldn’t be more happy.
And yet something was not right. I started to distance myself from the rest of the office and my team. I was suffering from severe stress and anxiety, and the signs were showing — I’ve started to feel tired all the time, I was unable to sleep, had constant, skull splitting headaches! To make matters worse, I was also suffering from constipation, I was developing acne breakouts and experiencing chronic back pain. I became irritable and tense, my married life suffered. There seemingly was no physical reason for these ailments – I was very successful, true, but the side effects of working long hours were catching up.
I knew the problem was in my fast paced lifestyle. I have switched careers to a more relaxed position in a local publishing house (that complit degree came in handy!), terminated all of my side gigs, started to exercise, and eat healthy. But my problems didn’t stop, far from it – they have only seemed to grow.
I began to panic and spent the two following months trying to get back to my old self, but it was all the same — stress, terrible sleep quality, headaches, aching joints, acne breakouts, and the back pain. The last stroke that broke the camel’s back was my marriage – my beautiful wife left me and I could hardly blame her. I truly was a miserable, stressed, constantly agitated wreck of a man. Something had to be done. Something drastic.
Good thing about being at rock bottom was that there was nothing left to lose. I’ve never believed the so-called “traditional medicine”: snake oil and fake news for the gullible, I always thought. But the modern methods had failed me. My doctors tried doing tests, C-scans, and biopsies, but not one could pinpoint why I was experiencing my symptoms. I was lost, desperate, until one morning, while casually talking to a traveling Japanese salaryman in a local farmer’s market I cracked and with tears in my eyes told him my whole sad story.
“You must go to this hidden Ryokan (a spiritual retreat) where many famous Japanese go to find cures for their problems”, the man said, “There you will find the source of your problems”.
What else could I do? What would you have done? I laughed at myself for my stupidity and yet after some consideration I decided to give it a try by taking a trip to Japan. What else could I have done? I was out of options. At this point I had very little money left, so I mortgaged my beautiful American home.
I traveled across the Pacific and started to search for this hidden spiritual retreat. I have lost my second job due to my constant stress and frustrated behaviour so I had to spend my last remaining savings for the journey inland. I did not speak a word of Japanese and English was not well spoken by the locals. But I persisted and after a few weeks of tiny hotel rooms and instant ramen diet I have finally located the so-called spiritual retreat in the remote mountainous region on the Hokkaido island.
Finding the Ryokan was easy enough compared to staying there. I have been taken in by the local Buddhist monks. They have accepted me due to my condition, but I was to live there as they did. Every day I cleaned the common spaces with the monks, picked natural food from their gardens and local mountain forests, practiced yoga and meditation without even speaking a word in Japanese. As hard as all of it was I started feeling a little bit better. My sleep was improving. The headaches did not seem to get as bad as before. They still persisted, however. Was the improvement real or in my mind? I did not know… yet.
Around the 5th week in this retreat, one of the practitioner’s sons, a young monk who could speak some English noticed that I was experiencing severe back pain when trying to get up from my futon. He looked at my painful expression, observed my aching joints, the tiredness in my eyes & sluggish movement. The monk told me that my body looked like it had a toxin overload. It seemed, he said, that I had lived a very stressful lifestyle and had forgotten to take care of my body and mind for far too long. Changing my lifestyle was a good first step, but it was not enough. There was a natural ailment which I should try.
“The feet are full of the most sensitive nerve endings and body energy centers. All body systems flow through the feet. But when was the last time you took proper care of your feet?”
The question seemed absurd, I simply smiled. The monk did not take offence:
“According to ancient Japanese medicinal knowledge, our human body has over 360 acupuncture points. More than 60 of the acupuncture points are found on the soles of the foot. Our feet are the reflective zones of our internal organs”, he explained.
The young man then handed me special foot patches that he said were made from various local herbs — a century-old ailment the Japanese had been using to stabilize blood flow in the feet and help reduce the number of toxins accumulated there. After all, he said, the feet is where the first chakra is — it’s our connection with the Earth, and if we do not take good care of it, we’re going to lose this connection.
The patches had a nice, lavender smell and were supposed to be worn at night. Even though I did not believe a word I just heard, the following night I put the patches on my feet, as instructed by the monk. I felt the nice warmth and comfort, which helped me fall asleep.
The following morning, I took the patches off and they were dyed in black. Rich, full black. It seemed strange because I had definitely washed my feet the previous night so there was no way for them to be dirty. I went straight back to the practitioner and asked what the reason may be.
The monk explained, “these patches stimulate the 60 acupuncture points on your feet and help to detoxify your body. The herb mix draws out toxins from the feet in a safe and non-invasive way. The toxins leaving your body are what dye the patches to black”.
I couldn’t believe it. Never in my life had I heard of anything like it. But as a last resort I have decided to give the patches a try and continued using them for another week. Each night I would put clean white patches on my feet, and in the morning, I would wake up to them being black as tar.
However, with each night, the patches seemed to be less and less black. By day 6, I noticed that my face was turning brighter and regaining a natural, healthy texture. The graying of my hair seemed to have stopped. Furthermore, even getting out of bed was easier: the pain in my back seemed to have lessened.
I did it! I found a centuries-old solution that finally solved my problems. It was not a myriad of little things that caused my issues, however different they all might have seemed: my tiredness, stress, frustration, aching joints and back pain had a single, underlying cause. The toxin accumulation. And the patches were removing them – one day at the time. After a week of use, my health improved considerably. I broke down and cried like a baby that day. My back pain and acne breakouts had subsided so much that I almost forgot there had been anything wrong. I was finally at peace.
I wanted to purchase more patches to bring back home, but they were not for sale. However, the young monk talked to his wise and old grandfather, a sage-like Japanese man on my behalf. The sage decided to share the ultimate secret with me – I was not the first foreigner with the health problems who visited this resort! Another man was here a year ago. He was a scientist who replicated the ancient patch recipe, developed and mass produced the detox solution for everyone to use. It was called “Nuubu” detox patches. I thanked the monks for saving my life (they even lend me some money for the journey back!) and returned home. The first thing I did was purchase a pack of “Nuubu” patches. They did not disappoint!
Keep them in your bed table, so you don’t have to walk around once you put them on. Remove the packaging and place the pad on the central area of the bottom of your foot, and apply the attached strip over the pad to make sure that it stays in place. And that’s it! You can go to sleep, and keep Nuubu on overnight — only remove them in the morning. Once you peel them off, you should see the results by the color of the patches. Each patch is for single-use, so apply new ones every night.
When I returned home from my months-long stay in Japan, I had to start anew: my house was taken over by the bank, I had no job, no family. But my outlook was positive – I finally had my life back! Day after day I have used the Nuubu patches and my well being improved dramatically. I have reached an inner peace, calmness I haven’t felt in a long time. It did not take me long to land a next gig: I had to start at the bottom again, but that did not dissuade me, as I was feeling healthy & happy. Soon I was back on my feet – I bought a new house, even bigger than the previous one. I was an editor at the major news website again. Finally I had the courage to contact my ex-wife. After a series of long, heartfelt talks we managed to heal our past wounds and move forwards! I was no longer frustrated or stressed. We married again the next spring. My mind, body and soul were healed – all thanks to Nuubu.
Nuubu will give you the stress relief that you’ve been missing. You will have more energy, feel healthier, and, overall, happier. Everyone will wonder what your secret is!
For a limited time, Nuubu Detox Foot Patches are available with a 70% off reduction.
